Statement
On April 26, a far-right group from the environment of 'Die Heimat' (formerly NPD) attacked Sunny High Club. In the early evening, the neo-Nazis, some previously convicted multiple times for assault and other violent offenses, climbed onto the balcony of PRISMA, stole the Pride flag, and demonstratively cut it into pieces in public with a knife.
This queer-hostile attack happened despite increased police presence due to the Wasen festival. Although evidence was collected by the police, we have not received information about further action.
Earlier racist, antisemitic, and queer-hostile incidents had already shown that our lived diversity and the values represented by PRISMA are a target for these groups. Nazi symbols, antisemitic graffiti, and destroyed rainbow stickers have unfortunately been part of our daily reality for a while.
This latest attack marks a new level of escalation. It was a symbolic act of intimidation and we will not leave it unanswered.
The political climate has become increasingly severe in recent years. Right-wing extremist and fascist groups are acting more openly, more confidently, and with greater willingness to use violence.
Racist and anti-human narratives, now even echoed by politicians in power, are paving the way for right-wing movements and violent perpetrators. This threatens not only cultural diversity, but especially the people who create it.
Cultural spaces, especially subcultural and socio-cultural spaces, are places where contemporary culture emerges, community is lived, and critical progressive discourse takes place. The hard-won progress in diversity, equality, and solidarity must be defended more than ever.
In times of isolation and division, we must keep demanding and developing what subculture has achieved over decades. It is not enough to merely preserve spaces like PRISMA. We need more of them.
We need more spaces where everyone can move freely and safely, and more room to explore, test, and present art and culture. That requires support from politics and civil society. The time to act is now.
We call on politicians, neighbors, and everyone interested in culture to take these attacks seriously and to show clear solidarity with us and others threatened by right-wing violence. We call on authorities to act consistently against fascist, racist, antisemitic, queer- and misogynistic structures.
PRISMA is a socio-cultural center founded to create culture and community for everyone seeking diverse and low-discrimination spaces in Stuttgart. Our events are as diverse as the people organizing them, and that is exactly why right-wing groups target us.
We will not be intimidated. Our answer to hate is visibility, solidarity, and lived community.
We therefore invite you on May 30, 2025, to raise a new Pride flag together with us and to set a public sign of solidarity.

Code of Conduct
Any discriminatory, abusive, or inappropriate behavior such as sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, classism, antisemitism, or anti-Muslim discrimination will not be tolerated.
Close dancing, touching, hugging, kissing, and more: talk to the other person about what feels okay and where their boundaries are. Silence is not consent. Being unable to respond is not consent.
If you notice someone feeling physically or emotionally unwell, or if you witness inappropriate behavior, report it directly to the Awareness Team (purple vests) or Sunny High staff.
We do not control our guests' drug consumption, so please take responsibility for yourself and make sure others are not affected or disturbed. Drink enough water, use our chill-out areas, and ask the bar for snacks or earplugs if needed.
As long as not everyone can equally choose to take off their shirt, we ask all guests to keep their upper body covered.
Everyone should feel free and comfortable at our event. Please respect that people may not want to appear in photos or videos online afterward.
As many different events take place here, we keep the venue as neutral as possible. Tags are welcome, but only in the area behind the golden archway.
A person's appearance does not tell you who they are. Do not make assumptions about identity, life experience, gender, sexuality, physical or mental abilities, age, religion, ethnicity, or social background.
WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE ANYONE WHO DOES NOT FOLLOW THESE RULES FROM THE EVENT
